about

I wrote this song last year. Credit for the lyrics goes to being life-tired, which is a thing we sometimes feel around valentine's day, especially.

Tired of the shit. Tired of waiting. Tired of being overlooked, tired of being dumped, tired of winding up with assholes. Tired of remembering who hurt you, or maybe it's got nothin' to do with relationships and you're just tired of the vacuum that life sometimes seems to be.

If that's you, this song is for you. This song is a respectful nod to your weakness and a credit to your strength.

Silly as it sounds, I hope this song can hold you while you wait, give you reprieve from your struggling, and carry you on into the next good thing.

Love you guys.

lyrics

I've been working on the making of a better life
a way for me for now, and god I hope for us in time
and every step I walk is made of hell and 10 foot walls
I'm prayin' in a bathroom stall

I've been workin' on my faith in all the in-betweens
Grabbin' tighter to the hope believed and not yet seen
My heart's been thinnin' out by every whittled loss it's cleaved
I think it's got the best of me

I think that I'm ready
that I'm ready
I think that I'm ready
that I'm ready...to be done

and I've been dreamin' of a dark and balmy summer night\
where I can feel your hand is tightly zipped up into mine
and when I'm facin' all the 10 foot walls I sometimes think
"Am I thick for hoping?"

And I believe that there's a way through every raging stream
and I beleive in certain cracked-pot, desperate, bullshit dreams
and you can call me out in anyway that you see fit
but I'm gonna see the end of this

I think that I'm ready
that I'm ready
I think that I'm ready
that I'm ready
I think that I'm ready
that I'm ready
I think that I'm ready
that I'm ready
I think that I'm ready
that I'm ready...to be done
